This project reimagines the creative energy of the post-war avant-garde movement, the Gutai Art Association, through a contemporary lens.

Concept | Redefining "What is Creativity?"

In the 1950s, Jiro Yoshihara, the leader of the Gutai Art Association, famously advocated the philosophy: "Do not imitate others."

In response to this powerful philosophy, Port11Vision presents the following:

"Creating something from nothing is impossible. What exists should be edited. In the realm of '1', we seek a better '1'."

We believe creativity isn’t about creating something from nothing. Instead, it’s about re-editing existing elements, changing their context, and rediscovering them.

Gutai Rewind is an experimental project that updates the definition of creativity, shifting from the "denial of imitation" to the "affirmation of editing."

We re-examine the fundamental question of "What is creativity?" by recontextualizing the contemporary phenomenon of sports—characterized by intense physicality and collaboration—into the realm of art.
